It's
planting time, and the Volunteer Farm needs YOU!
The Volunteer
Farm exists to provide food for the hungry in the 25
counties and nine cities of Virginia we serve.
Within a couple of weeks, the Farm will start
planting 10 acres of potatoes. It is hoped that the
Farm will be able to produce more food this year for
the growing number of people receiving food through
the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. We cannot fulfill
this goal without your help!
We need at
least 200 volunteers through the month of March to
assist with the planting of the potatoes, so we urge
you to quickly determine if you would be able to
schedule a visit to the Farm in the next couple of
weeks. If you would like to help, please sign up on
our web site at www.VolunteerFarm.org. The
"Calendar" shows the anticipated work for each day,
the number of volunteers needed, and the number
already signed up. We hope that you will join with
us in the ongoing work of the Volunteer Farm.
